Some music is embued with nobility. Regardless of any text associated with it, it possesses dignity and drama. The Welsh hymntune Bryn Calfaria is the epitome of this. It was written in the 19th-century by William Owen, and the title translates as "Calvary's Hill." However, the hymn texts generally associated with it are related to the Christ festivals of the church year: Transfiguration, Ascension, and Christ the King. So, although it could certainly be used in Lent, the expansive, regal quality of the music truly makes it truly fitting for those festival weeks.
